Yes, you can write in English. We still will conduct the class in German. The idea is that while international students are very welcome, we hope that some will stay in Germany, which eventually means that they’ll be best of if they practice German. So I encourage you to write in German.
Speaking of practising languages: that bit should read „they’ll be best off“. 
Nice catch. I’ll give you an A for language diligence. Just send me your matrikel number.
